
Build your own "A Frame" Cabin
Goleen Harbour is a stunning 38 acre eco resort located just 2 minutes from the village of Goleen in West Cork near Mizen head. Ethos: In keeping with our ethos of sustainability we run gather and learn workshops. These courses teach participants life skills that are needed to live in, develop and support a sustainable and resource-efficient society. They are about all of us having and sharing the knowledge, abilities, and values to live in, help develop, and support a sustainable society. We also like to have a bit of fun and enjoy working and learning together in a structured, friendly and social setting.

A fantastic chance to learn cabin design and construction, incorporating timber framing, and use of up-cycled materials.

• Insulation Installation
• Window & Door Installation
• Exterior Cladding Installation
The A Frame will be an addition to our guest accommodation the design, similar to those shown on this page, includes a fully glazed entrance with small covered deck, space for a king bed or two singles and incorporating storage. This course is suitable for all skill levels from beginners up, don’t worry if you’ve never used a tools before, we’ll show you how.
Our lunches are wholesome and healthy and have been highly praised. We always have great conversations and
social time, and are starting on a Thursday because there’s a great music session in O’Mera’s bar in Goleen village.
We’ll finish after lunch on Sunday.
Instructors: Jonny Condy (Jonathan Callaghan) – With over 20 years of experience, Jonny is a skilled designer, construction expert, and educator. His expertise spans from building outdoor timber spaces to creating contemporary and traditional timber structures. Jonny brings a deep understanding of sustainable, locally sourced materials, making this a unique and invaluable learning experience.
Matt Mills – founder of Goleen Harbour and EcoCabin – Matt is an experienced multi discipline designer who has a passion for green building. His experience spans funding, planning permission, design and construction. Matt uses locally sourced materials, to minimise environmental impacts wherever possible, achieving a contemporary
design aesthetic whilst maximising building performance, working with nature not against it. A lunch each day will be provided with ingredients from our organic farm where possible and other local suppliers.
