New Marin bikes for the 2017 hire fleet

For the new season we are expanding our range of Marin hire bikes, our Gestalt 1’s proved popular last year and this year we are moving up the range with the Award Winning Gestalt 2 here’s what Bicycling Magazine said Garnering such praise as “smooth and lively,” “I could ride this bike forever,” and “wow, just wow,” the Marin Gestalt 2 surprised us with an astonishing versatility beyond that of a regular road bike. (The $1,209 price tag didn’t hurt either.) Testers remarked that the 1x drivetrain was simple and quiet with enough gearing to really hustle and to tackle legit climbs. They loved the way the butted aluminum frame, burly 30mm tires, and mechanical disc brakes handled gravel without creating a discernible disadvantage on the road. And they appreciated the rack-and-fender mounts, a thoughtful addition that pushes this bike firmly into do-it-all territory. We can’t help but agree with Marin’s global brand director, Chris Holmes, who summed up the bike this way: “It’s not just okay at everything, it’s really good at a lot of tasks.”

We say – these bikes are perfect for cycling on the varied road surfaces of West Cork and you can even take them off on gravel roads and tracks. Great for Bike Packing too!

Another bike in a similar mode but in steel is the all new Nicasio that makes cycling the roads of the Mizen and Sheep’s Head peninsula’s fun whilst giving access to off road tracks too.

For those of you that just want a leisurely cycle to the pubs at Crookhaven or to visit the Mizen Head Discovery Point then this year we have the Marin Stinson ST women’s bike to add to our San Rafael hybrids.

We can also supply any of the Marin bike range to you see for further info.
