SUMMER POP-UP DINING SERIES

Following the success of last year's sold out series of food collaborations and back by popular demand we are delighted to announce this season's Pop-Up Restaurant program based in our unique Barrel Top venue.

Spring Tide – A Meal of the Sea & the Wild Atlantic Coast

Dates: Sat 25 April 5pm & 7.30pm

Spring tides pull back to reveal the deepest parts of the coastline, a time for exploring what’s been growing. Join us for a supper club to celebrate and experience the excitement of the season.

The 5-course menu is inspired by familiar Italian favorites, but featuring foraged flavors. There will be fresh pasta, spring greens, and of course seaweed.

We’ll begin with a guided foraging walk along the coastline, discovering seaweeds and wild spring plants that will later appear on your plate. Local foragers Samuel Keane and Jen Doran will lead the way, sharing their knowledge of this special corner of West Cork. Ending at the firepit for a welcome bite, before we gather at long tables to eat together.

We’re welcoming back Chef Epi Rogan, formerly of The Glass Curtain and Paradiso, joined in the kitchen by Goleen Harbour’s Sophia St.Clair.

Almost Anywhere x Goleen Harbour

Dates: Friday May 15th & Saturday 16th; 6pm & 8:30pm

Almost Anywhere is a roaming kitchen founded by Tom Hayes, whose ethos is to allow the best of seasonal produce to sing through simple cooking. Tom  has cooked all over Ireland, in farmhouses of the French & Italian countryside, and last October held a residency at Ballerina Farm, Utah USA. Goleen Harbour is looking forward to hosting them for the first time this season!

You can expect sharing plates of local fish, early summer vegetables from the grill, cheeses from West Cork and a selection of perfectly paired natural wines.

The Glass Curtain x Goleen Harbour

Dates: Sunday July 5th; 6pm & 8:30pm
Angie & Alex of TGC  Monday 6th; 6pm & 8:30pm

We are delighted to welcome back the hugely popular The Glass Curtain Restaurant to Goleen Harbour for two nights of great food.

Brian and the kitchen team will be putting together a summer menu using the finest ingredients from wonderful producers and collecting local foraged produce from around Goleen itself.

The Glass Curtain will serve a 4 course family style sharing menu on Sunday evening, and on Monday two of their brilliant young staff members Angie & Alex will take over the kitchen. They are relishing the opportunity to cook their own menu, and you can expect to see Alex’s chilli crisp make an appearance, condiments and preserves from throughout the seasons, with Angie’s sweets to finish. They will be serving a 4 course, family style menu. Your evening will be filled with apple orchard nostalgia, good food and friends on a laid-back summer evening.

After meeting at a craft fair 5 years ago, both Angie and Alex have been carving their paths in the hospitality industry. Alex began cooking in Chicago kitchens in 2019 before moving to Cork. He worked at the Ballymaloe House Hotel before becoming the Sous Chef at Elbow Lane. Angie has worked in kitchens such as Paradiso and Meb’s Veg  but has returned to working front of house, which originally hooked her to her hospitality career. They have both found their hospitality home in the Glass Curtain where Alex is working in the kitchen and Angie is front of house supervisor.

Leviathan (James Gabriel Martin) x Goleen Harbour

Dates: Saturday July 11th & Sunday 12th; 6 & 8.30pm

The Leviathan project was born from a passion for food and how it connects us.

The project strives to create a unique experience that encourages community, drawing guests together in an intimate, convivial atmosphere while showcasing a passion for food and hospitality. With a focus on seasonality, heritage and story-telling.

James Gabriel Martin is a chef and photojournalist from Dublin.

Through his multimedia project Leviathan, he explores his passion for food from different angles and perspectives. This includes writing, recipe development, photography and hosting bespoke dining events with changing themes. A deep focus on storytelling acts as throughline in all that he does.

The most recent iteration of Leviathan is a travel series that shines a light on Ireland’s remarkable food, craft, and music scene, celebrates the country’s vibrant creative culture, and showcases the stories of wild food foragers, artisan makers, organic farmers and more.

James joins Goleen Harbour Eco Resort for a special weekend of food inspired by the richness of the surrounding area.
