Accessibility Welcome Guide

Welcome to Goleen Harbour Eco Resort, we are a Neurodiverse friendly resort with a focus on helping Neurodiverse children, young adults and their carers. This guide will help you assess whether our site is suitable for you, your friends and family.

2. Travel & Arrival Guidance

By road (bridge)

You can reach Goleen Harbour via the R591 and L8410 roads are narrow with multiple bends and limited shoulders; please drive cautiously.

Public transport

There is a regional bus service for the west Cork region, which includes Goleen. Check out the Local Link bus service HERE. Outside the bus service, local travel is typically by taxi or shuttle.

Airports

The nearest airports to Goleen Harbour are  Cork, Kerry (Farranfore), and Shannon.

  • Cork Airport: approx. 1 hour 50 minutes by road 
  • Kerry Airport (Farranfore): approx. 2 hours by road
  • Shannon Airport: approx. 3 hours 30 minutes by road

From each airport, onward travel continues by road. 

3. Key Accessibility Features & Site-by-Site Access

EcoCabins / Campsite  Mostly accessible Moderate to good access some rough surfaces and double steps up to cabins.  Staff assistance on-site will help with access. Provide a clear path from the parking area.
Geodomes  Limited accessibility  The geodomes are sited in Special Area of Conservation land which means we are unable to build smooth pathways.  Paths are considered moderate to difficult in accessibility.  Staff will assist in carrying luggage etc.

For those with limited walking ability we recommend the EcoCabins as an alternative.
