As well as being a luxury retreat away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, Goleen Harbour is also a centre for environmental stewardship. In keeping with our ethos of sustainability, we believe in empowering others to learn the skills they need to live sustainably.

Forage & Craft
A forage from land to sea. An enriching and immersive experience guided by Jen Doran and Samuel Arnold Keane.
With a deepened connection to land, we enter the liminal place that is the coastline. Arriving as the tide reveals the mysterious world of seaweeds—deep purple sleabhac slung on jagged rock, bright green slip of glasán, caught up in lengths of sea spaghetti and fronds of kelp. Samuel shares with us the many ways to bring algae into our lives—our breakfast bowls and our ink wells, our gardens and our dreams.
Gathered in our baskets, we bring the foraged herbs and seaweeds back to the scenic campfire overlooking fastnet lighthouse, where prepared tasters, herbal concoctions and fermented drinks await. Cooking on the open flame, witnessing the purple duileasc turn bright green, getting to taste the salted crispiness of glasán, our immersion draws in deeper again. We share knowledge and experiences, make stories and memories.
With Forage & Craft, we delve deeper into knowledge of creating herbal remedies, seaweed ink, or pressings. Each date offers a unique immersion into the art of foraging and crafting.
31st May, 31st July & 30th August 2025.
