GeoDomes

We are now completing the fit out of our two new Geodomes, Ballydivlin & The Perch above. When it comes to combining luxury with the freedom that glamping offers, our GeoDome has a show-stopping, gem-like appearance that provides a beautiful contrast against the rugged coastal landscape.

Our GeoDomes are a giant window to the ocean, offering spellbinding panoramic views all the way out to Cape Clear, Fastnet Lighthouse, and the Alderman Rock at the entrance to Crookhaven. Each of our domes has a skylight which not only provides a perfect view of the star-speckled sky at night but also acts as a magnificent light trap during the day.

From €180 per night

Facilities

Each Geodome has a compact kitchen with an induction hob and a fridge, and a shower and sink However, as they are situated within our Special Area of Constraint, the toilets are located in the facilities building approximately 100 metres away.

Access to the communal fire area, the facilities building, and the games area is only a short stroll away, so everything you need to enjoy a wonderful, relaxing and restful stay is readily to hand.

Sustainability

We have installed Zero Carbon district heating system for heating and hot water.

  • All our power is generated by renewable energy
  • To date we have planted over 10,000 Native broad leaf trees
  • We have preserved our wetlands as they sync more carbon than woodlands
    • Our new EcoCabins tread lightly on the earth using ground screw foundations rather than concrete. They are constructed in Ireland using locally sourced and renewable materials wherever possible.CMS
    • Our purchasing policy extends to the fit out where we have carefully selected Irish made Respa 4-Star Hotel mattresses ensuring you as comfortable night’s sleep. The Geodomes incorporate furniture from the Sofa Company who support the tradition of furniture making in Vietnam they incorporate recycled fabrics and are a carbon neutral company.
    • For 2023 we are teaming up with our friends Hometree to give our guests and customers the chance to offset their carbon and do something positive for biodiveristy and the environment by making a donation to our fund.

House Rules

Because we always put biodiversity and our environment first, as well as for your safety, all cars are left in the nearby car park after drop-off.

Because we want Goleen to be a restful and relaxing place for all our guests, Wi-Fi is only available in our reception area.

We have a beautiful swimming spot, which guests are welcome to use, just off the rocks at Castle Strand. Please note, however that use of this swimming area is entirely at your own risk!

Pet Friendly?

Due to the location of our GeoDomes being adjacent to our horses and their expensive furnishings they are not pet friendly. Our Fastnet and Sherkin EcoCabins, Bell Tents and campsite pitches are however.

  • We had 5 fantastic nights in the Geodome. The location is stunning looking out to Fastnet. The Geodome has excellent facilities and an amazing shower. It is a perfect spot for hiking, beach trips and a short walk into Goleen Village. Matt and staff were helpful and had great advice about local beaches, activities etc. The ethos of Goleen Harbour respects and protects its unique environment.
