Learn how to craft a reciprocal roof construction through this hands-on workshop. Whether you’re a beginner or
looking to enhance your skills, this course covers everything from wood specification and design to the use of hand tools and crafting intricate joints.
Our project will focus on the creation of a ceremonial space, constructing a reciprocal roof over our amphitheater fire pit. Course content will cover:

• Use of Hand Tools
• Crafting Joints, Posts & Braces
• Standing Posts & Frames
• Attaching Roof Timbers
This workshop is ideal for all levels—whether you’re just starting out or want to refine your skills, our instructor will guide you through every step. Expect to learn traditional techniques along with time-saving methods that still result in high-quality, beautiful finishes.
Instructor: Christy Collard – Christy primarily designs and builds artisan eco-structures, designs and landscapes natural gardens. He is best known for creating stages and structures for festivals such as Future Forest, Body & Soul and the Global Roots area at Altogether Now. Over a dozen of his unique creations remain an integral part of these festivals, lending them the eco-biophllic style for which he is known for.
